Birth Doulas in Training/Volunteering

The process of becoming a certified birth doula requires that an aspiring individual complete a 16-18 hr training course through an accredited organization, attend 3-5 births, observe a childbirth education and breastfeeding class series, and complete required readings, assignments, and exams. Often, doulas in training offer their services for a reduced charge or for free. The following is a list of current birth doulas in training.

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital Volunteer Doula Program

We are a group of fully-trained birth doulas.  We offer our services for free to any woman who delivers her baby at BMH.  We are available to meet and establish relationships with clients ahead of time.  We are also on call for women who make the decision that they would like a doula while they are in labor.  We provide hands-on as well as emotional and informational support during and after labor.  We are always honored to accompany women and their families on this important day of their lives.
